Can you recall one of those life changing moments where time seems to stand still?
My yoga practice began with one of those pivotal moments. I was a single mom, managing a business and had just called off a wedding two weeks beforehand when a concerned family member handed me a yoga DVD hoping it would help me to sleep at night. My life was never the same.
Absolutely in love with the feeling this practice gave me, I began Yoga classes at a studio and was taken under the wing of a wonderful Yoga teacher who trained me to become an instructor. Because of the changes in my personality and authentic self peeking out, I could finally start to "actually be" the love I was always looking for outside myself. I eventually meet the mate who instigated my next pivotal moment by asking, "What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?" I take a chance. I quit a 20-year career of managing my own salon and begin to teach Yoga full time.
Encouraged by my student's enthusiasm and my husband's support we create our first Yoga DVD. With a passion to share what I loved and without a clue to what we were doing, we met every producer in town to sell our show as a TV program. After endless edits and retakes "Yoga In Wisconsin" was born, filming over 46 episodes, running for two years and eventually transforming into internationally syndicated TV program, "Happy Yoga with Sarah Starr."
Since 2001, I've been conducting classes such as "Power of Now" and "Breathing Peace" with thousands of people in national workshops and conferences. I encourage my students to relax, breathe and smile, as they become the watchers of their thoughts, worries and distracting mind dialogue. "If your not having fun, you're not doing Yoga."
My Vinyasa Flow PlayShops alternate with; opening student's minds and bodies through a rejuvenating Yoga practice, meditation, and breathing techniques to create optimal health. These practices activate body awareness, life energy, releases tension & cramped muscles that distract from clarity, thus clearing energy blockages and increasing physical well-being and aliveness.
"Be the change in your thoughts. Live the change through your actions. And, love your life with appreciation. Be It. Live It. Love It." - Sarah Starr
